50 years of ‘Making History Matter’: Ironwood Historical Society celebrates milestone

Preserving and honoring history for five decades, the Ironwood Area Historical Society (IAHS) is celebrating its own history this year. 

The non-profit Upper Michigan-based IAHS was established in 1970, acting as the driving force to place Ironwood’s most historic structures on the National Historic Register while collecting, keeping and translating the Ironwood area’s rich heritage, president Sandy Sharp relayed.

“2020 is a huge success for vintage Ironwood,” Sharp said.
