A Cup of Tea event a success
August 13, 2019
On July 20, the Lakeland Gardeners and Seasons of Life Hospice Home hosted “A Cup of Tea,” a new experience enjoyed by all that attended. This event supports the continual maintenance and updates to the Seasons of Life hospice home garden.
The Seasons of Life garden was in full bloom for the event — such a tranquil oasis to visit. Attendees toured the garden and were able to purchase plants and flowers from the Lakeland Gardeners. The pathway leading to the tea at Northwoods Unitarian Universalist Fellowship was adorned with floral hanging baskets and accents of tea pots and tea cups. The tearoom was set up like an English tea, with glass tiers of delicious savory bites and sweets to enjoy with tea or lemonade. The Lakeland Gardeners, outfitted in floral dresses and garden hats, hosted the tea. Violin music played by a local musician filled the air. An abundance of quality raffle baskets, donated by local businesses, gave the guests some wonderful prizes to win.
Next year’s event will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2020.
Many thanks to the volunteers, Northwoods Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and especially to the Lakeland Gardeners, who maintain the garden and organized this fundraising event.
The garden provides a sanctuary of quiet and beauty for the hospice home residents and their visitors to enjoy, as well as a place for individuals to pay tribute to those who have died.
