‘Arty Hearts’ class at LOLA on Feb. 13
February 07, 2020
Fiber friends Denise Fauntleroy and Barb Benson will hold the class “Arty Hearts — Felt & Stitching,” at Land O’ Lakes Arts (LOLA) from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.
Create an Arty Heart to give to your valentine, or to keep close. Fauntleroy and Benson will help students cut the felt to create various heart shapes, choose colors that compliment, and teach basic stitches for finishing and embellishing with artistic flair.
Fauntleroy resides in Watersmeet, Mich. When not crafting, cooking, skiing or watching the birds, she works for the Invasive Species Control Coalition of Watersmeet (ISCCW), as an invasive species cpecialist.
Benson lives in Conover. She enjoys working with wool and is currently designing a Northwoods inspired table runner made in the tradition of primitive rug hooking. She and her husband Dan are very active community volunteers and can be spotted ballroom dancing.
These two instructors are giving LOLA a piece of their heart, as they will be donating their time and talents to teach students. All proceeds from this class will go directly towards LOLA’s programming efforts. Cost of class is $20 for adults. Beginners welcome. All materials supplied. It is optional to bring scissors for cutting felt and an embroidery needle.
