AV-W spreads appreciation to community

Students and staff at Arbor Vitae-Woodruff Elementary School will be creating and sending notes of love and appreciation to their community’s essential workers. Students of all ages will be using their writing and art skills to express their feelings to those workers who are helping our community get through these difficult times.

Correspondence can be dropped off outside of school in a mailbox designated for these little letters of love. Cards can also be mailed into the school-11065 Old Hwy. 51 N- or can be dropped off at designated lunch distribution locations. In addition, students can give their notes to busses, which drop off lunches. If these options are not feasible, students can photograph their cards and letters and email them to their teachers. Cards and letters will be distributed in coordination with meals being delivered to essential workers in the community, through the internet, and through the help of volunteers.

In addition, students and staff are encouraging all community members to join them in showing their appreciation for essential workers. As an EL school, AV-W believes strongly on lifting others up and recognizing acts of service and compassion. We are in this together. We are Crew. If you would like to send a letter, please stop by our mailbox or send a letter to:
