August 09, 2019
The Musky Capital of the World is celebrating 63 years of Musky Jamboree, Friday, Aug. 9 through Sunday, Aug. 11 with different activities and events each taking place each day.
On Saturday, Aug. 10, the challenge is for amateur chefs to participate in the Best Fish Fry Cook-Off. This is the third year of the Best Fish Fry Cook-Off held along Main Street in various locations. From 3 to 5 p.m., entrants will be serving a sampling of their tastiest fish fry in hopes of winning the People’s Choice Award and, new this year, the Judge’s Choice Award.
Fish Fry Cook-Off judges will be: Smokey Bear, who is celebrating his 75th birthday this year; former Wisconsin Department of Tourism Secretary, Stephanie Klett, who was named Boulder Junction’s honorary Musky Queen in 2016; and a surprise judge. Voting by the general public is from 3 to 5 p.m. with the award presentation at 5:30 p.m.
Along with the Fish Fry, there will be live music by Ron Harrison Entertainment at Peeple’s Park and the Boulder Junction Lions Club will serve beverages until 6 p.m.
Anyone interested in participating in the Best Fish Fry Cook-Off should contact the Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce for more details no later than Wednesday, July 31.
