Boulder Junction Chamber reveals new tourism
brand and website
December 17, 2019
In an effort to bring more visitors to the Northwoods, the Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce is launching a completely redesigned website and new brand.
The new boulderjct.org is a fresh look at everything that makes the community a wonderful place to visit — welcoming locals, beautiful scenery and exciting outdoor recreation. Using a color palette of bright, bold colors and large, eye-catching imagery, potential visitors are drawn to an idyllic scene that still feels approachable.
“We wanted people to see how really stunning the area is, but also the authenticity and friendliness of our community,” Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce executive director Theresa Smith said. “The hope is that through the website, especially the ‘I Am Boulder Junction’ section, by the time people visit, they’ll feel a real connection and will want to return again and again. We want to be their second home.”
“I Am Boulder Junction” was a campaign launched by the chamber several years ago to boost community pride, knowing that the caliber of people who live there was one of the greatest selling points of the town. What began as buttons and bumper stickers has now expanded to the new website, where business owners are prominently featured with personal stories about why they love Boulder Junction and links to pages with information about their businesses, including photos, directions and more.
“We want visitors to walk into these stores and restaurants, recognize a face they saw online and feel like they’re seeing an old friend,” Smith said. “Because that’s how the folks here will treat them: like they’ve known them all their lives.”
The website also provides potential visitors with information about places to stay, local attractions and recreation, restaurants, shops and events, and utilizes a helpful filter system with maps to make it easier to find the perfect places to stay and play.
In addition, it houses microsites for the burgeoning White Deer Triathlon and the Forest Frenzy Winter Triathlon, both returning to Boulder Junction in 2020 for the sixth and third years, respectively. The pages include all the pertinent race information, plus helpful countdowns and colorful photo feeds showing off shared content from social media fans and followers. There’s even a microsite for the town’s annual beloved Musky Jamboree.
“Everything about the brand is warm and welcoming and fun,” Smith said. “Whether we’ve been a part of a family’s tradition for generations, or it’s their first visit, or maybe they just want to try something new, like fishing, or snowmobiling, we’re here to help. The brand reflects that willingness to make a visit to Boulder Junction one they can’t wait to repeat.”

In conjunction with the new brand and website, the chamber has also launched the “Travel Boulder Junction Giveaway,” with a grand prize of a stay in Boulder Junction and money to shop and dine. The giveaway runs through Jan. 10, 2020. Enter at boulderjct.org.
