Boulder Junction Lions Club
Colorama Dinner on Sept. 21
Celebrates 60th anniversary
July 30, 2019
The Boulder Junction Lions Club Colorama Dinner will take place at 6 p.m. on Sept. 21, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. The event takes place at the Camp Manito-wish YMCA.
This gem in the Northwoods will not only continue to serve as a traditional community dinner, but will be replacing the Lions’ Spaghetti Dinner, previously offered in early May. “Funding the Future of Our Youth” will continue to be the theme of this beloved community event.
The family-style dinner will be prepared by Camp Manito-wish chef Ruddy Valadez, consisting of the traditional wild game stew and baked chicken dinner with all the fixings. Save room for delicious pie provided by The Bakery in Boulder Junction. The Boulder Junction Lioness will graciously assist with pie preparations.
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer this event to the community, because of its heritage in Boulder Junction, but also because it will fund activities and class trips for the fourth and eighth grade classes at North Lakeland School (NLS), thus the continued theme of ‘Funding the Future of Our Youth,’” first vice president Lion Bob Bertch said.
Since this dinner is to help the Boulder Junction youth, the NLS fourth and eighth grade classes will be assisting with the event. The Lions are honored to have both the fourth grade class helping early in the day by setting tables and more, and then, following the tradition, the eighth graders will serve as wait staff and will be working hard to earn tips.
Tickets will be available at the Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce office beginning in August. Reserve a table for 10 with pre-payment or purchase individual tickets. Any questions can be directed to co-chairs Barbara Boston at 715-605-2036 or Jim Hornbrook at 715-385-3379. Watch for more information on the Boulder Junction Lions Facebook page.
