The Boulder Junction Lions Club recently presented a $1,000 donation to the Camp Jorn YMCA Child Care and Summer Day Camp programs. As with many organizations and households, this is an extraordinarily challenging financial time for Camp Jorn. They have many fixed costs they need to cover this year and they want to continue their mission of serving kids and families to the best of their ability. While Camp Jorn will not be offering Resident Camp this summer, the Child Care and Day Camp programs serve many working families and that is a high priority at this time.
Camp Jorn YMCA Child Care offers a full-day, year-round quality child care program using a play-based curriculum which allows each child to grow at their own pace in the areas of social, emotional, physical and academic development. Warm, caring, educated staff provide care in a casual, relaxed setting where the needs and interests of both child and parent are recognized. Camp Jorn YMCA Child Care has been serving children and families from the Northwoods since 1997.
Camp Jorn YMCA Summer Day Camp is for campers who like a bit of everything — from sports to crafts, swimming to nature, they will get to experience it all. Each week is packed with a variety of activities planned around weekly themes. Campers have a choice in their activities such as crafts, large group games, archery and so much more. Families can sign their camper up for single days, or all week.
The Lions Club is grateful for the presence of Camp Jorn YMCA Child Care and Summer Day Camp in the community and for providing such a valuable service to local families.
