CBO: Higher unemployment to linger for a decade

Lower overall growth will dog the American economy, too

Unemployment will average above 6% for the next 11 years, nearly 2% higher than previous forecasts, the latest report from the Congressional Budget Office projects.

The nation’s overall economic growth during that time period will also be significantly hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic, the CBO states.
