County and town supervisor Vern Wiggenhauser passes away

The Plum Lake Town Board will appoint a new town supervisor in August.

The action will be necessary due to the passing of Vernon Wiggenhauser on July 18.

Wiggenhauser, who served in the U.S. Army for two years in the 1960s and had a career of more than 30 years in banking, was also a member of the Vilas County board. 

He was first elected to the county board in April 2014, but had to resign in early 2016 for health reasons.
