Denim & Dessert presents ‘Drinking Habits’ on Sept. 27 and 28
September 24, 2019
Denim & Dessert Readers’ Theatre presents the comedy, “Drinking Habits,” at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Presque Isle Community Center.
Accusations, mistaken identities, and romances run wild in this traditional, laugh-out-loud farce. Two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent's doors open, but Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancees, are hot on their trail. They go undercover as a nun and priest, but their presence, combined with the addition of a new nun, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. Wine and secrets are inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and reconnect with lost loves.
Written by Tom Smith and directed by Tom Erickson, admission is free, first come best seats, with donations graciously accepted. Complimentary coffee and desserts are served after the show, with a cash beverage bar before and during intermissions. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
Just 1158 miles off Broadway, D&D’s shows are presented three times per year at the Community Center off County B at 8306 School Loop Road behind the fire barn. Parking is in front and behind the building.
