Dillman’s Creative Arts Foundation hosts back-to-back art events

Dillman’s Creative Arts Foundation in Lac du Flambeau will host two art-filled public events Thursday, Sept. 26 and Friday, Sept. 27.  

Fall Paint Party

The Fall Paint Party with David R. Becker is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26. Artist David R. Becker will instruct and entertain participants through a step-by-step acrylic painting of a beautiful fall forest with birch trees. 

The $49 fee includes all supplies to create a finished work of art: canvas, paint, easel, brushes, apron, reference photo ... plus coffee and appetizers. Book a table of five friends and the sixth person paints free. 

Non-artists and artists 18 and older are welcome. Call 715-588-3143 to reserve a spot.

Workshop Retreat

Dillman’s Art Workshop Retreat is offering an opportunity for non-professional artists from Wisconsin and neighboring states to exhibit their work at the first ever Dillman’s Wisconsin Regional Arts Program Exhibition/Workshops. 

The path to becoming an artist is full of new and exciting experiences. Dillman’s Art Workshop Retreat invites regional artists, those who live in Wisconsin and surrounding states and are 14 years of age and older, to display their original artwork in a three-day exhibition in Lac du Flambeau at Dillman’s Bay Resort on White Sand Lake.

On Friday, Sept. 27, the nationally-renowned artist David R. Becker will judge entries and give a free mini-workshop on watercolor tips and tricks for participating exhibition artists. Artists who win awards at the local exhibition are eligible to have their work shown at the annual Wisconsin State Exhibition (WRAP) in Wausau in September 2020. They are eligible for thousands of dollars in prizes at the state level.

The entry fee of $30 covers the exhibition of three works of art and participation in the workshops. Artists may bring guests to the Friday workshop for $5 each; all else is complimentary.

Artist may summit artwork till 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26. 

Artists may pick up artwork directly after the show ends. Artwork must be pick up no later then 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4.
