Downtown Doings in Boulder Junction on Saturday

Downtown Doings, a new interactive series, has been held on Saturdays this summer. The last two Downtown Doings in July were host to sidewalk chalk art contests from 11 a.m. to noon. Children gathered and created some colorful and eye-catching works of art on the sidewalk in front of Peeple’s Park on Main Street.

On Saturday, July 13 the sidewalk chalk art was judged by Sara Muender, Artist in Residence and Owner of Moondeer & Friends Gallery. The winners were — Best in Boulder: Hannah Fieweger, Most Creative: Madison Bode and Most Colorful Taion Drutowski.

On Saturday, July 27, interior designer and co-owner of Aqualand Ale House, Susan Govier along with her husband and co-owner, Dick Govier, judged the sidewalk chalk art. The winners of July 27 contest were — Best in Boulder: Samantha Merrick, Most Creative: Luke Merrick and Most Colorful: Ari Hunt. 

Join Barb Boston on Saturday, Aug. 3 and Saturday, Aug. 10 as participants compete for “Boulder’s Best Hula Hoopster” and “Boulder’s Limbo Master” awards, as well as salsa and line dancing.

Downtown Doings is coordinated by the Town of Boulder Junction Economic Development/Connect Communities Committee and sponsored by Century 21 Real Estate-Jeff Long. All activities are held weather permitting. For more detailed information, contact committee member Barb Boston at 715-605-2036.
