Fiber Friends contributes to Purple Hat Campaign

October 25, 2019

Newborn babies are sure to be warm and cozy thanks in part to the efforts of Fiber Friends, a group of dedicated fiber art enthusiasts. Participants created 44 purple newborn hats to donate to The Howard Young Birthing Center for November’s National Newborn Purple Hat Campaign. The aim of the campaign is to promote awareness of newborn crying and prevent shaken baby syndrome.

Fiber (Art) Friends meets weekly at Minocqua Public Library to create, learn and share conversation. Anyone is welcome to join and bring their project, including knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, quilting, paper arts, in other words, all things fiber. No project, no problem. Come and create for one of the groups’ community donation projects. Fiber Friends meets Wednesdays, from noon to 3 p.m. in the library program room. For more information call Minocqua Public Library at 715-356-4437.
