A Nicolet College Outdoor Adventure class
The 2020 Outdoor Adventure Program at Nicolet College features more than 30 different offerings that include a broad range of outdoor experiences and learning opportunities.
From 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, Jeff Kevin Schmitz and Mike Haasl will lead the “Foraging in the Northwoods” class at the Nicolet Campus Woods and Northwoods Center Dining Room.
Join long-time expert foragers Kevin Schmitz and Mike Haasl in the woods in search of any number of plants that provide sustenance as food and can be used for other purposes. The focus will be on identifying a collection of the more useful plant species in the Northwoods and also having an informative discussion about each species.
The cost to participate in this class is $35. This class is rated slightly strenuous, does not require prior physical conditioning.
Nicolet is following local, state, and federal guidance in regards to COVID-19. A maximum of 10 people, including instructors, are allowed for each class. Any classes that have an indoor component have been moved to larger classrooms to accommodate at least six feet of physical distancing.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own cloth face coverings and hand sanitizer. The college will also have masks and sanitizer available for those who do not have their own.
