Fr. Dodge Council of Knights of Columbus support local Coats for Kids

November 28, 2019

When families struggle to clothe their children with warm coats in the winter, Knights of Columbus councils all across the country help meet this basic need with the Coats for Kids program.

Since the program’s launching in 2009, nearly 500,000 coats have been distributed in 49 states and all 10 Canadian provinces. In the winter of 2017 alone, the Knights of Columbus distributed 105,192 coats in 1,600 communities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The Fr. Dodge Council here in Woodruff was one of the first councils in the state to implement this program locally. Each fall, the Fr. Dodge Council has been supplying coats, boots, snow pants, gloves and hats for children in need at all Lakeland area elementary schools.
