Frozen Tozen Ice Fishing Tournament in Boulder Junction on Feb. 1

January 03, 2020

On Saturday, Feb. 1, the 12th annual Frozen Tozen Ice Fishing Tournament will take place on Boulder Lake. Anglers will be competing for cash prizes: $300 for the largest fish, $100 for the most accumulated inches to adult entrants, $100 for the most accumulated inches to junior entrants and $100 for the most accumulated inches to a team.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. at the Boulder Lake boat landing on Airport Road, with walk-in registrations welcome throughout the day. The tournament runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. At only $30 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under, the tournament is fun and affordable for everyone. Individual registration also includes registration in the team tournament. Teams can include two to four individuals, so bring friends.

Awards will be presented at Headwater’s Restaurant & Tavern on Hwy M in Boulder Junction. The awards ceremony will begin at Headwater’s at 5 p.m. The general public is encouraged to attend.

After the awards, stick around for the raffle drawing. Tickets for the raffle will be available at the Boulder Junction Chamber along with local restaurants and shops. The grand raffle prize is Winter Sports Package from Northern Highland Sports. The package includes ice fishing equipment, apparel, gift certificate and more — valued at over $300. Many other fantastic prizes will also be raffled off. Tickets are just $1 each or six for $5.

All tournament and raffle proceeds will go to the Boulder Junction Area Boat Landing Improvement Fund. The Fund, which is made possible by the Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce’s annual ice fishing tournament, Frozen Tozen, has been in existence since 2007. Over the past 12 years, over $15,000 has been given to projects which ease accessibility to area lakes. The most recent donation, in the amount $6,000, went towards the purchase of new aluminum roll-in pier at Upper Gresham Lake as well as improving the White Sand Lake Landing including new blacktop.

For more information and for ice fishing registration forms, visit boulderjct.org or call the Boulder Junction Chamber at 715-385-2400.
