Gogebic Community College 2020 Guatemala Service-Learning Trip

September 10, 2019

Gogebic Community College is planning its third annual Service-Learning Trip to Guatemala May 16-24, 2020. The trip is open to students, faculty, staff and community members who will travel to Chichicastenango in the Quiche region of Guatemala for a week of service in rural villages.

Working on community-based construction projects, the GCC team will work alongside local community members, interacting in ways tourists simply cannot. In addition, the group will visit a local school, experience the world-renowned Chichi Market, spend a day in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Antigua, and maybe even hike a volcano.

The 2020 trip will be capped at 20 team members. Applications are now being accepted. Interested parties are invited to attend a Guatemala Informational Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at either 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. in room B22 at Gogebic Community College.

For information on how to apply, contact Janie Williams at [email protected] or 218-969-4433.
