Governor directs agencies to submit zero budget increases

But Evers orders departments to increase equity, decrease racial disparities

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers laid out his 2021-23 budget priorities in a letter to cabinet secretaries and agency heads this past week, calling for them to submit zero-increase budgets, but also asking them to prioritize decisions that promote equity for populations he says have been systematically left behind, especially low-income residents and communities of color.
