In settlement, Evers releases records, pays $40,000 in legal fees

Gov. Tony Evers this week settled an open records lawsuit filed against him last year by state Rep. John Nygren, releasing 10,000 records and paying $40,000 in legal fees.

In a statement, the governor did not admit to breaking the law, but said he had no time to waste in court during the current COVID-19 crisis. But Nygren retorted breaking the law is exactly what the governor was admitting he did.
