The Ladies of the Lakes Quilt Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 2, and Saturday, Aug. 3 at Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua.
Along with the huge quilt display, there will be many vendors selling quilting supplies and fabrics. The “Sew Chic” boutique sale will offer a wide variety of handcrafted and quilted items made by guild members. There will be quilting related demonstrations on both days. The show will feature a display from the Hoffman Challenge trunk show and the “Wall of Fame” will show guild member winning entries from the past three years.
Raffle tickets will be sold at local events and during the show for a beautiful Wool Wall Hanging titled “The Twelve Days Of Christmas.” This quilt was created by members of the Ladies of the Lakes Guild and will be raffled at the Guild meeting in October.
Admission to the quilt show is $5, which includes a chance for door prizes. Refreshments and lunch will also be available. Proceeds from the event are used to support an annual educational scholarship awarded to a LUHS student and various community projects, including quilt donations to Seasons of Life Hospice.

The Ladies of the Lakes Quilt Guild has been operating as a non-profit for nearly 30 years and has a long history of supporting Seasons of Life Hospice, Lakeland Sharing Foundation, and providing an annual scholarship to a deserving LUHS student. Talented members have created the 2019 raffle quilt for fundraising. The wool wall hanging is “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” It is produced from a pattern created by River’s Edge Quilt Loft in Hayward. Custom quilting was done by Cheri Trexler, a guild member who is also a professional quilter from Woodruff.
Raffle tickets for this quilt will be available at the show, and will be sold at area businesses during the summer.
The Ladies of the Lakes Quilt Show allows members and non-members to display their skills in creating quilts of every size. These same skills are called upon when making the quilts that are regularly donated to Seasons of Life Hospice throughout the year.
