The Lakeland Area Genealogical Society will host Donald Schnitzler at 1 p.m. on Sept. 10 at the Minocqua Public Library.

Schnitzler is an experienced genealogist from Marshfield. He will be speaking on “Family Traditions and Family Records.” Schnitzler has given several programs to LAGS in the past and all have been well received. Meetings begins at 1 p.m. and usually last until 3 p.m. The public is invited.

LAGS is a group of local genealogists of varying interests and experience in researching their family histories. They meet on the second Tuesday of each month (except July and December), usually meet in the Susan and Roger Smith Meeting Room at the Minocqua Public Library. There is a short business meeting followed by a program of interest to the membership.

Afterward, there is time to socialize and share experiences. The group offers one-on-one help to those starting the adventure. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
