Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua cancels 2020 summer performances

June 26, 2020

The announcement to cancel the 2020 summer performances at the Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua due to the recent pandemic was recently announced.

“After weighing countless scenarios, we have determined that the most responsible and viable path forward is to cancel all of our summer performances,” a press release states. “With the uncertainty surrounding the safety of large gatherings, it was unfortunately the only decision we could make.”

The same press release did tease Big Top will continue to bring exciting program options during this time.

“We will still be here producing Tent Show Radio, live-streaming our new Tiny Tent Show, creating new musical content for our original shows, and planning quality programs for the future,” the release states.

Already bought tickets?

For those who have already bought tickets to a performance during the 2020 season, there are a few options of what to do.

• Donate the value of the tickets. Tax-deductible contributions are critical in helping Big Top continue operations during this crisis.

• Credit an account to use for future performances, merchandise, etc. No action is necessary.

• Save the seat/ticket for a possible 2021 show reschedule.

• Request a refund for the value of the ticket.
