February 18, 2020

The Lakeland Memory Cafe will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20 at Peace Lutheran Church in Arbor Vitae.
The Lakeland Memory Cafe is a great resource for finding out what causes memory loss, what is the root of loss and if it is age related or a disease. Memory Cafe is also a resource for providing referrals for diagnosis and help.
The Cafe begins with an educational program to stimulate brain activity, followed by a presentation on the brain and memory.
On Feb. 20, Newswatch 12 meteorologist Geoff Weller will explain how weather is predicted, how this science has advanced and how this imperfect field of study helps to people safe from Mother Nature. This science is one of the fastest changing fields of study to date and is highly complicated.
Following Weller, Marilyn Matz, a retired anatomy, physiology and chemistry teacher with 17 years of caregiving experience for a vascular dementia patient, will present on the levels of memory impairment, testing and strategies for improvement and what current research is showing.
Call 715-892-4437 with any questions.
