Lakeland Memory Café meets July 18

July 16, 2019

Lakeland Memory Café at 10 a.m. on July 18 at Peace Lutheran Church on Old Highway 51 in Arbor Vitae.

Guest speaker will be Megan Rudisill, FDN-P, FNLP, health coach and owner of Wild Berry Natural Food Market in Minocqua. Rudisill will present on how to utilize herbs and spices in cooking to maximize wellness. She will review common herbs and health issues in aging and share how to use them in cooking. There will also be a question and answer period.

Geri Heppe, MS gerontologist, will present on “Myth or Fact” — what really helps memory and what is just “fluff” in the current market place. Supplements and television ads are everywhere, but do these products really maximize memory function and brain health?

The Lakeland Memory Café is a program designed for individuals diagnosed with memory loss and those who are concerned that they may have issues with their memory. The number one health concern of baby boomers is loss of memory. The Lakeland Memory Café provides a two-part format — the first program is informative in nature, but of interest to all. The second program focuses on issues relating to brain function and improving memory.

All are welcome and refreshments will be served. Call Heppe with questions at 715-892-4437.
