LDF Construction earns safety award for zero recordable accidents
February 25, 2020
LDF Construction, part of the LDF Business Development Corporation (BDC), recently earned a prestigious safety award at this year’s Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin annual conference. Hundreds of construction builders and contractors gathered in Wisconsin Dells, where LDF Construction’s Maxine Gans and Christy Jackson accepted the Award of Honor for Zero Recordable Accidents in 2019.
“We are so proud of our team and our partners for their dedication to safety on all our projects,” Jackson said. “Whether it’s a federal, state or private contracting opportunity, we view safety as a crucial part of our performance. Keeping our talent safe is extremely important.”
Contractors from across Wisconsin were honored for their exemplary safety performance at the Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin annual conference. For the past three decades, ABC of Wisconsin has recognized hundreds of members for their commitment to safety with the ABC of Wisconsin Chapter Safety Awards Program.
“Jobsite safety is the most important issue for our contractors,” ABC of Wisconsin president John Mielke said. “We are proud to have a membership that is so committed to ensuring every worker goes home safe — every single day.”
The most impressive group of awards given out by ABC of Wisconsin are the Safety Awards of Excellence. These are presented to one member in each of the three categories: Small Contractor, Mid-Size Contractor and Large Contractor. These companies must have incident rates for total OSHA recordables and lost work day cases at least 25% better than the industry average. In addition, the winners must have a model safety program and an impressive past safety record.
“Safety is such an important part of talent recruitment and retention in the construction industry,” Gans said. “It truly was an honor to accept this safety award from ABC of Wisconsin on behalf of all of our teammates.”
