Local artist to present at the Lakeland Area Photographic Club on Aug. 21

August 16, 2019

The Photographic Club will host its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at the Minocqua Public Library. John and Barbara McFarland will be presenting.

For more than 50 years, John and Barbara McFarland have lived, farmed and created their art together in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Working out of Woodsholm, their Manitowish Waters art studio and home, they create images in watercolor and acrylic, sculpture and jewelry capturing their visions and the spirit of the land.

“We want to focus on the artistic devices used in photography and paintings that both disciplines can use to create works of art. We will be discussing the use of compositional techniques, color, subject selection, value, media manipulation and other topics relative to both painting and photography.”

The community is invited to listen to these outstanding artists discuss their work. An open meeting of the Lakeland Area Photographic Club will follow their presentation and all are welcome to attend.
