Mercer town chair addresses allegations of racism in town

Mercer town chair John Sendra addressed allegations of racism within the Mercer community during the town board’s open comment section of its agenda on Thursday, June 18.

“I had quite a unique experience this week,” he said. “I was on my way to zoning Tuesday when I had the dubious experience of being interrogated by a very zealous social justice warrior.”

According to Sendra, a “young lady had a lot of time on her hands” and had asked whether he “was a racist.”
