Mercer Volleyball Golf Fundraiser held

The annual Mercer Volleyball Golf Fundraiser Scramble was held on Sunday, August.Lynx Golf Course. Fourteen teams teed off to vie for bragging rights for the upcoming year. 

Taking home top overall honors for the second straight year was the Heart of the North 3-person team of Steve and Heather Ogden and Jim Golonka with a score of 6 under par, 29. The men’s category winners was the team of Jack Albright and Gilbert, Bub, and Phillip Chapman, Jr. with the score of 4 under par, 31. The mixed category team winners was the team of Roger Hinterthuer, Kelly Kohegyi, Dennis McKenzie, and Dick Fryar carding a 1 under par, 34. 

Hole event winners were #1, longest drive, men, Gilbert Chapman; hole #2, longest putt, women, Caitlyn Hiller; #3, closest 2nd shot, Steve Ogden; #4, longest putt, men, Dick Fryar;#5, closest 2nd shot and  #6, closest to pin, John Michael Klopatek; #7, closest 2nd shot, Bub Chapman; #8, longest drive, women, Kelly Kohegyi; #9, closest to pin, Roger Ikola.  

John Michael Klopatek took home the two major prizes, the Smart TV and the 50/50. Other raffle winners were Rich Barbetti, Kelly Kohegyi, Deanna Pierpont, Joyce Brundage, Dennis McKenzie, Matt Schoememann, Sally Begalle, Sami Kussard, Becky Bettin, and Heather Ogden. The final golf scramble of the season at Tahoe Lynx Golf Course is the Mercer Butternut Pioneer Football team fundraiser that will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
