Minocqua Dragon Boat Festival on Aug. 17

August 06, 2019

The fourth annual Minocqua Dragon Boat Festival takes place Aug. 17 at Torpy Park. This free event supports the Howard Young Foundation’s work in advancing the health care and wellness of those who work, live and play in the Northwoods.

From the opening ceremony to awaken the spirits of the dragon boats to the races to the awards ceremony, the all-day admission-free festival features hands-on children’s activities, Forbidden City Food Court, Dragon Breath Beer Garden and live music on the WXPR Music Stage.

Gather 20 paddles and one drummer to make up one of the 48 teams. Back for the fourth heart-pounding year, this free event raises funds for the Howard Young Foundation. In the first three years alone, the Festival raised an astounding $620,000, every penny of which goes to fund local health care initiatives for the community.

For more information, to register a team or to volunteer, visit minocquadragonboat.com or call the Howard Young Foundation at 715-439-4005.
