‘Miracle on 34th Street’ presented by Denim & Dessert on Dec. 14
December 13, 2019
Denim & Dessert Readers Theatre present the beloved Christmas classic, “Miracle on 34th Street” at the Presque Isle Community Center at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14. The production is free with Christmas treats of coffee and dessert afterwards.
Done as a radio production, the large cast of local community members narrates the holiday efforts of Kris Kringle who plays (or is he really?) Santa Claus at Macy’s between Thanksgiving and Christmas Day in New York. This comedy-drama eventually brings the true meaning of Christmas to the rivalry between Macy’s and its competitor Gimbels; proves Kris is the “One and only” Santa Claus and unites its stars in blissful wedlock.
Established in 2004 as a not-for-profit readers’ theater serving the Northwoods, Denim and Dessert has staged nearly 40 productions, providing a source of free live entertainment and an opportunity for actors to engage in a timeless craft.
Admission is free, with donations welcomed. The Presque Isle Community enter is just off County B at 8306 School Loop Rd next to the library. Call 715-604-2534 for additional information. Doors open at 6 p.m.; come early for the beverage bar and best seating, no reservations.
