Qualifying students attending Nicolet College can now earn three credits for free thanks to a generous donation from the college’s insurer, District Mutual Insurance.
To qualify, individuals must be new students at Nicolet and unemployed for any period of time after March 13, 2020.
“These are difficult and challenging times for many, and this is yet another opportunity to help individuals looking to better their lives with a college education,”Nicolet Dean of Enrollment Erika Warning-Meyer said. “Even in a struggling economy, those with a college education are more likely to keep their jobs. And those who have lost their jobs are more likely to return to work more quickly than those with just a high school diploma.”
The three free credits can be applied to any of the more than 60 certificates, technical diplomas, or associate’s degrees the college offers. Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
To qualify, students must present proof of unemployment, earn a grade of C or better in the class, and must be a new Nicolet student.
