The Northern Waters Genealogical Society (NWGS) meets from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at the Boulder Junction Community Center, 5392 Park Street.
This month’s program will be “Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way: Dissecting a Probate Record,” presented by Carol Williams. Probate records are central to the work of a genealogical researcher. These rich documents can reveal relationships among entire families, in ways that few other records can. This program should help the family historian understand the terminology within an estate settlement and what clues can lead to further resources for investigation.
The meetings are free and open to the public. All persons interested in genealogy and family history are welcome to attend. For more information, call 715-686-7339.
