The Northwoods Singers, a cross-border community choral singing group, will hold its opening potluck and fall gathering rehearsal at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Eagle River. The potluck will be followed by the introduction of the song repertoire for this fall-holiday season. New singers are always welcome.
The Singers are an adult choral group composed of choristers from throughout the Wisconsin/Upper Michigan Northwoods area, some of whom have a home base as far away as Madison, traveling to their Northern seasonal homes once a week for the Tuesday rehearsals.
Once again directing the Singers will be Dr. Pamalyn Lee. Dr. Lee has directed the group since 2005, and also directs choirs at Ely Memorial Church of Christ in Land O’ Lakes, and Prince of Peace in Eagle River.
Repertoire for the Northwoods Singers includes classical, folk, international, and contemporary choral music designed to enhance each singers’ vocal experience, and bring the finest choral music to the Northwoods audience.
The Singers rehearse every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Eagle River.
The Singers are traditionally joined by a cross border Youth group, and present holiday concerts at Prince of Peace in Eagle River, and at Grace Covenant Church, Iron River, Mich. The youth group rehearsals, usually held at the above facilities, will be announced soon.
