‘Not guilty’ plead in sexual assault of a child incident in LdF

December 20, 2019 by Abigail Bostwick

The man visiting Lac du Flambeau accused of sexually assaulting a child during his stay in the area has pled not guilty to all charges.

Facundo Flores-Rosas, 53, Menasha, was in court Monday morning for a preliminary hearing in Vilas County Circuit Court with attorney Courtney Christine Jolin. Post testimony, Judge Neal Nielsen found enough probable cause to bind the case over for trail. Flores-Rosas pled not guilty.

Police were called to Lake of the Torches Casino and Hotel in the early morning hours Nov. 30 for a family matter. The child, under the age of 13, informed family members that morning she’d been awoken by Flores-Rosas touching her and trying to give her money, the criminal complaint reads.

Family told Lac du Flambeau Police officers they had suspected similar incidents may have occurred in the past, records add.

Flores-Rosas was charged with felony first degree sexual assault of a child/under the age of 13 and possession of THC, a misdemeanor. He is being held on a $10,000 cash bond at Vilas County Jail.

A pre-trial is set for late January in the case.
