Oneida County panel sends waiver of tax penalties to county board

Panel nixes waiver of interest charges on late property tax payments

As part of the state’s COVID-19 relief legislation, the state is allowing counties and municipalities to waive interest and penalties on second installment property taxes if they are paid by Oct. 1, but Oneida County’s administration committee is fashioning a plan that will only waive the penalties.
