Plum Lake Ice Fishing Tournament on Feb. 8

The Sayner-Star Lake Lions Club is hosting its 20th annual Plum Lake Ice Fishing Tournament from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, on Plum Lake in Sayner. Fish registration will take place at the Sayner Public Pier. Awards ceremony and raffles will take place at 4 p.m. in the Sayner Community Building along with food and beverages available for sale by the Plum Lake Fire Department.
Prize money of $700 will be offered for largest fish in five categories; perch, bluegill, crappie, walleye, and northern pike. There will be separate categories for children. Adult tickets are $25, children 12 and under $10. Adult tickets are also entered into a merchandise drawing including power ice augers, portable ice shack, Marcum Hand Held Sonar, Lazer Hand Auger, 8-inch auger drill kit, Otter sleds and more. Most participants will receive a door prize. All children entries will receive a door prize plus one boy and one girl will win a bicycle in a random drawing. 
There will also be raffles for items such as a freezer filled with meat and frozen food, power augers, Yeti Coolers, Aqua-Vu underwater camera, Marcum 5.0 Sonar, portable ice shacks, Otter sleds, 8-inch auger drill kit and much more.
Tickets are available at Sayner Pub, Up North Traders, Weber’s Wildlife, and Mar-Li’s in Sayner; 70 West Body Shop in Eagle River, Murmuring Waters in St. Germain, or any Lions member.
Proceeds benefit Lions projects including $5,000 in scholarships, Wisconsin Lions Camp, Vilas and Lakeland Food Pantries, Sayner July 4th Parade and Fireworks, Vilas Childrens Museum Run With Fathers program, and many others.
