Recently, the St. Germain ATV Club Inc. completed the construction and resurfacing of an all-terrain vehicle trail through the downtown area of St. Germain.
Club secretary Jack Bourgeois explained in a press release the trail runs from Christmas Tree Lane to Sunrise Boulevard and goes behind the St. Germain Chamber of Commerce Building.
“It travels for about a mile in length, is ATV/UTV accessible from the State Highway 70 crossing at Cemetery Drive and crosses the existing bike and hike trail at two locations,” he said.
Bourgeois said the funding for the trail came from a grant provided by the Yamaha Corporation.
Additionally, 75 tons of high quality road surface gravel material was donated for this project by High Point Sand and Gravel of Lake Tomahawk and labor for the resurfacing was provided by SVS Inc.
“The total cost of the investment would have been $10,800 from the ATV club if it were not for the generous donations from these three companies,” Bourgeois said in the press release. “The club has been working and project managing the completion of this trail for the past two years and now it has finally been completed.”
