Some Vilas County government offices reopen

June 30, 2020

As of 8 a.m. on Monday, June 29, some of the Vilas county government offices will be open again.

To better protect veterans, all public access to the Veterans Services Office will be by appointment. Walk-ins may call this office from the courthouse lobby at 715-479-3629 for service.

In addition to the VSO, the county clerk, county treasurer, Register of Deeds & Tax Listing, and Zoning and Planning Office remain open to public access. Appointments are not required for these departments and offices.

All other Vilas County government buildings and satellite offices remain closed to public access until further notice.

Visitors will be instructed to proceed directly to one of the reopened offices and will need to leave the building immediately upon concluding their business.

Although not a requirement, it is recommended each visitor wear a mask to help protect their personal safety and the safety of others.

Do not visit the courthouse if feeling ill or have a cough, severe headache or a fever. Members of the public exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms will be denied entry.

All public entry will be through the Secured Public Entrance at 330 Court Street in Eagle River. A security and weapons check is conducted at this entry.
