St. Germain town board votes down Fourth of July parade

‘Loosely formed’ group wants to try and get one going

The last chance for a large parade to mark Fourth of July in the Lakeland area this year may have disappeared Monday. 

Following well over an hour of discussion, the St. Germain Town Board voted 3-2 to follow a recommendation from the town’s Independence Day committee not to hold the parade. 

Just prior to that vote, the town board voted unanimously to hold the Fourth of July fireworks on June 28, the Sunday before the Fourth of July.
