A long time Lakeland area town clerk hinted at the possibility she may be close to “hanging it up.”

During the Presque Isle annual town meeting on Thursday, June 4, town clerk Lorine Walters, elected first as town treasurer in 1983 and then town clerk in 1991, brought up a possible change for the clerk position from its current elected status to that of appointed.
