Tara Lila Snowshoe Celebration on Feb. 1

The ninth annual Tara Lila Snowshoe Celebration will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1 at its Tara Lila Section 9 Road Unit in Eagle River. The free, family friendly event runs from noon to 8 p.m., with a candlelight snowshoe walk beginning at dusk. Celebrate the expansion of the Sampatha Trail.  

The park offers an expansive network of groomed snowshoe and fatbike trails accommodating a wide range skill levels.

An “Animal Tracks Talk and Walk” will take place at 1 p.m. and tours guided by naturalists providing educational interpretation of the natural surroundings will be held throughout the afternoon. A variety of warm food offerings will be available starting at noon, with all proceeds going to loca charities. Door prizes will include a new pair of snowshoes.
