UTV/ATV World Championships cancelled

July 12, 2019 by Jacob Friede

The UTV/ATV World Championship races to be held last weekend at the World Championship Derby Complex (WCDC) in Eagle River were canceled at the last minute due to a lack of drivers.

The event, which was to feature over a dozen and a half classes of UTV/ATV races, as well Sedona Tire and Fly racing, spectator mud racing, a treasure hunt, and live music, was scheduled for July 5-7, but now may be moved to September.

“We had a couple (racers) but not enough to put on a good show,” said Bailey Dorn, who works for the WCDC. “We are planning on rescheduling the UTV/ATV World Championship Derby and Rally this September, but nothing is official yet.”
