November 01, 2019
The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center will be hosting a Veteran benefit presentation at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, at Fornetti Hall on the campus of Bay College West in Iron Mountain, Mich. Veterans, their families, and the general public are all invited to attend.
There will be presentations focused on specific items:
• Employment Assistance Programs that are afforded to veterans. A vocational development specialist with the facility will provide a brief presentation on services that are available to veterans
• Representatives from the Veterans Benefits Administration will be presenting on benefits that may be afforded to veterans, who served in the “Blue Water Navy” during the Vietnam War. Eligibility for health and/or disability benefits associated with their service will be addressed.
These presentations will be followed with an opportunity for those who are present to ask any questions they may have regarding these subjects as well as any other VA services. For those who are unable to come in person the townhall will be streamed live on the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center’s Facebook page, and the video post will be available for later viewing.
“We want to provide our veterans with important health care information that may be of benefit to them while also getting their input on the care we provide and answering any questions they may have,” said John Jamison, spokesperson for the VA Medical Center.
Bay College West and Fornetti Hall are at 2801 US-2, Iron Mountain, MI. Any questions can be directed to Tim Ellison, veteran experience officer at 800-215-8262, extension 32593.
