Vilas County lakes conservation specialist Cathy Higley talked with the Land and Water Conservation Committee at their regular meeting this month regarding the Department of Transportation (DOT) permit for their purple loosestrife permit. In order to treat purple loosestrife on the highway right-of-way, they needed not only a permit from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), but also one from the DOT.
