Paint an acrylic winter wonderland scene with artist Lisa Krueger from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 at Land O’ Lakes Arts (LOLA). Students will learn how to manipulate a palette knife to create a large portion of birch trees, as well as the tiny trees that make up the winter scene.
Krueger lives in Tomahawk, where she is inspired by the beauty of the Northwoods. She works in a variety of mediums, such as; watercolor, pastel, acrylics, mixed media, and alcohol ink. Krueger also enjoys sharing with others by teaching and helping her students grow creatively in the artistic process. Her art can be found in area galleries, and the public can view her work at her creative space — Oak View Studio, as a part of the Northwoods Art Tour.
This class is for the beginner, as well as intermediate students. Cost of this adult and teen class is $55. All materials supplied. Deadline for payment/registration is Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020.
Home school class
Also coming up is LOLA’s class for home school students, “Freestyle Chip Carving,” from 1 to 3 p.m. on Jan. 7 and 21, 2020. This class is led by wood carver John Modjewski. Students will make freestyle chip carvings on wood panels. Supplies needed (see LOLA website). This class is suitable for home school students ages 12 and up only. Cost is $12 for an individual student or $10 each for siblings.
