A week of events in Boulder Junction starting June 30

Boulder Junction has several events taking place the week leading up to and through the Fourth of July. All activities are planned with the safety of visitors and community in mind. The Town of Boulder Junction, Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce and community volunteers appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience. 

 

Tuesday, June 30

The open air Boulder Junction Lion’s Club Flea Market is held on the grounds of the Community Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Wednesday, July 1

Music on Main Street — Soul Inspirations featuring David Deon from 7 to 9 p.m. outdoors at the Boulder Junction Community Center, Highway M just south of Main Street, where there is ample space for social distancing. Combining hot southern soul, jazz harmony and Latin rhythms, David Deon & The Soul Inspirations aim at the heart and mind. 


Thursday, July 2 through Sunday, July 5

As a way of showing community spirit local businesses will be participating in a Patriotic Display Contest in which the public is encouraged to vote for their favorite display. Images of the participating businesses will be posted on boulderjct.org July 2 through July 5, at which time those near and far can cast their vote. Awards will be presented to the top three businesses on July 6. Show small businesses support by casting a vote.

 

Friday, July 3

Music on Main Street — The Voice of Elvis, Clyde Masten from 7 to 9 p.m. outdoors at the Boulder Junction Community Center, Highway M just south of Main Street, where there is ample space for social distancing. 

 

Saturday, July 4

A small Independence Day Ceremony by the American Legion Post 451 will be held at noon at the Veterans Memorial Triangle.

Fireworks will be displayed at 10 p.m. at the Boulder Junction Airport. gates to the airport will open at 8 p.m. and cars will be parked with generous spacing to allow families to enjoy the display while safely socially distancing while staying by their vehicle. A few additional changes are being implemented for safety that all attendees will be expected to follow: Private fireworks and grilling out is not permissible, restrooms will not be available and there will be no play area up front for children — families are asked to stay by their vehicle.

Sunday, July 5

Free Fishing Seminar: Round Robin Questions with Bob’s Manitowish Guide Service, Erv Keller Guide Service, Marty Clauson Fishing Adventures and Mike Errington’s Guide Service. The seminar will be held outside at the Lions Pavilion behind the Community Center on Hwy M from 7 to 8 p.m. Picnic benches are available inside the pavilion or bring a chair and sit in the lawn. Free to the public. No reservations are necessary, just come and enjoy.
