‘Healthy Shorelines’ online workshop on June 24 and 25

Oneida County Land & Water Conservation Department is hosting a free two-day online workshop promoting initiatives to reduce shoreline erosion, improve water quality, and create wildlife habitat. 

“Healthy Shorelines for Animals, Plants and People” will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday and Thursday, June 24 and 25, virtually via Zoom. To sign up for one or both days, visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040549A5A928A1F94-healthy. Once registered, instructions will be received from Zoom on how to attend via computer or phone.

Wednesday, June 24 will feature Baerbel Ehrig with “Project Overview, Reasons & Benefits of Restoration,” Lynn Markham with “Pesticides, What Can You Do if You Care About Pollinators?” and Michele Sadauskas with “County Cost Share: A Locally Led Grant Program to help Landowners Restore Their Shoreline!”

Thursday, June 25 will feature Michele Sadauskas with “Day One Recap, Day Two Overview,” Baerbel Ehrig with “Improve your Shoreline AND the Lives of Pollinators!”, Stacy Dehne with “Case Studies and Photos,” Pat Goggin with “Healthy Lakes: Five Simple Best Practices for Clean Water and Wildlife Habitat” and Dan Butkus with “Shoreland Naturalization: An Atypical Journey on Squash Lake.”
