June 12, 2020

Usually a two-day event, the Manitowish Waters Solstice Festival will be on Saturday, June 20, free of charge. During these uncertain times, it is a great opportunity is for individuals and families to enjoy area’s bike trails and promote a healthy, active lifestyle.

The Festival begins on Saturday with both fun rides and road rides. This year the road rides include a 7-mile River Loop Ride and a 14-mile Buswell Loop Ride, both starting at 11:30 a.m., and the popular 29-mile Cranberry Ride starting at 11 a.m. Both the 50-mile Half Century Ride and 100-mile full Century Ride have been cancelled, but will return in 2021.

The River Loop and Cranberry rides begin at the Manitowish Waters Community Center on Hwy 51 and run along beautiful, well-marked courses with a rest stop and support. The new 14-mile Buswell Loop Ride will begin at Koller park with a rest stop located at the North Lakeland School.

The traditional Fun Ride will also begin at Koller Park at 10 a.m. and includes rest stops and activities at the Discovery Center, Camp Jorn YMCA and North Lakeland School. All rides end at Koller Park for a post ride meal and celebration with live music, food, beverages, and raffles. The Post Ride Party at Koller park is from noon to 4 p.m.
