‘How about you?’

April 21, 2020

To the Editor:

While shopping at a local grocery store yesterday (Monday, April 6) I witnessed a heartwarming display of community action. By my count, 17 of the 20 shoppers, or 85%, wore face masks of some sort, in addition to staying six feet apart. These customers are motivated to protect the health of those whom they encounter, both fellow customers and store employees.

However, none of the store employees wore masks. A few employees were positioned behind plexiglass barriers.

I am motivated to do business with those stores that demonstrate at least as much concern for my health as I show for that of their employees. How about you?
